Pump Pressure Rating Guide

The rating of pumps is measured in “bars” which is the measure of pressure. 1 bar pressure equates to 10 metres static head of water.

To get a good idea of the performance level of a particular pump, look for the bar rating. The higher the bar rating, the higher the performance level of the pump.

You can use the following bar ratings as a general guide to the performance level of a pump.

• 1 Bar Rating: Low boost.
• 1.5 to 2 Bar Rating: Medium boost.
• 3+ Bar Rating: High Boost.
