Yet again we come across the sub-standard work of a bad plumber, this time in Milltown, Dublin 6. Last Friday evening just after 7 PM, we received a call to our  emergency Dublin plumbers number, 086 124 9070, from a lady who had a new shower and tap mixer set installed. This is a very basic and easy job for a qualified plumber to perform but unbelievably, the plumber she employed to fit the mixer set made a complete mess of it. The taps had leaked water from underneath the bath and through the bathroom floor into the kitchen below.

Thankfully there was not as much damage caused as there could have been but part of the kitchen ceiling will have to be replastered. Although the damaged was ultimately the fault of the plumber who fitted the shower mixer set originally, the chances of the customer getting the cost of the repairs back from this guy are very slim as he was not insured.

The lesson here is to check the qualifications and insurance of the plumber you decide to carry out work for you. No matter how small the job, you can see how a basic job can turn into an expensive nightmare for you if you do not properly check out a plumber properly. Just ask the questions, are you fully qualified and are you fully insured?
